Let’s get to
know: SAM WELLS
Hi – my name is Sam Wells, and I have worked in a plethora of job industries in my lifetime. My first job was a Sacker for Foodland at the ripe age of 16. I was a manager in a paint store, a night shift grocery manager, I managed a men’s clothing store, and worked about every position you can hold in the pest control industry. Now here I am at Shelby for over a decade. I can only assume God had a hand in it. One of the things that I enjoy most about my job is that every day and every call offers something new. As I like to say: “Variety is the spice of life.”
I have been happily married to my loving wife Melissa, for 21 years. She is my best friend, my travel buddy, and my partner in life. We spend our weekends exploring our local city and the surrounding area looking for new things to do, and new places to eat. It is our ultimate goal to travel to as many states, and other countries as we possibly can. We want to see the world. To steal a line from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty: “Life is about courage and going into the unknown.”.
When I am not saving the world (by supporting Shelby customers), my hobbies are Doctor Who, traveling, collecting Pops (Doctor Who Pops), reading, and anything else that sounds fun. So I guess my main hobby is FUN.
Melissa and I stay involved with our home church in Millington, TN. We help with the planning committee, my wife sings in the choir (she is my favorite singer) and I work as a substitute teacher. We also oversee our heart’s passion: the Tupelo Children’s Mansion Christmas Gift Drive. We have been gathering and donating Christmas gifts for all of the 50+ children at the mansion for the past 5 years. It is the highlight of our year.
One of the
lessons I have learned over the years is to be versatile. A Pentecostal
Church’s needs are not the same as the needs of a United Methodist Church. That
diversity is what I must always keep in mind. When you call Shelby Systems for
software support, I will be there for you with a calm voice and lots of
experience to help solve any issue you may be facing. I look forward to serving
you and your ministry soon.
My name is Sam Wells, and I am a Shelby Systems team member.
